A young girl and three adults died in a Saturday evening accident at De Hoop, Mahaica, East Coast Demerara( ECD).
Dead are Kellon Jones, Jason Rudder and his daughter Jamella Rudder, and Chris Gonsalves.
News Room understands that Rudder and his daughter were returning home from an award ceremony hosted by the Guyana Oil Company (Guyoil) on Saturday. The girl was awarded by the company for her outstanding performance at the National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA). She copped a spot at President’s College.
“Just this morning, Jamella brightened our Guyoil family at the head office with her infectious joy, celebrating her entry into President’s College. We were all immensely proud of her recent achievements, including her remarkable performance in the NGSA,” Guyoil wrote in a Facebook post on Saturday.
CCTV footage of the area seen by News Room shows the two vehicles in a head on collision.
The Guyana Police Force has not yet released official details of theaccident.
