ANSA McAL Trading Limited has announced its partnership with the Petra Organisation for the fourth annual KFC Goodwill School Football tournament, scheduled from December 12-22 in Georgetown.

On Tuesday, ANSA McAL’s Director Troy Codogan presented a sponsorship of G$1,260,000 in support of the tournament.

Troy Mendonca, Director of Petra Organisation, expressed gratitude to ANSA McAL for its enduring support.

He used the opportunity to highlight the tournament’s significant growth, evolving from a modest event with three teams, including a single foreign team, to this year’s expanded line-up of eight participating teams.

Top Jamaican school football team, Clarendon College, will contest the tournament this year.

The Jamaicans will join teams from Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago, who will battle against the top teams from Guyana.

Clarendon College will join St. Benedict’s College from Trinidad and Tobago and Voorgezet Wetenschappelijk Onderwijs Four (VWO-4) of Suriname, defending champions D.C Caesar Fox Secondary (Waramadong), St. Ignatius Secondary, along with the top three teams from the ongoing Limacol School League.

Teams will be split into two groups of four, and the top two will progress to the semi-finals.

The top school will cop a prize of US$2,500, followed by US$1,500 (second), US$1,000 (third), and US$500 (fourth).

Matches will be staged at the Ministry of Education Ground, Carifesta Avenue, and Queen’s College Ground.
