A vendor is nursing gunshot and chop wounds after the attackers allegedly went to his D’Urban Backlands Squatting Area, Georgetown home and attacked him on Thursday.

The Guyana Police Force on Sunday said it is investigating the incident involving Quason Leacock, 31, and three identifiable men, which occurred at about 15:00 hrs.

Police said Leacock was home alone when the three men went there and asked him if he had a problem with them.

Leacock told the Police that he knows two of the men by their call names ‘Tallman’ and ‘Buck’. He does not know their addresses.

He said ‘Tallman’ approached him in an aggressive manner, pulled out a handgun and shot him on his left thigh after asking if he (Leacock) had a “problem with them.”

Then, ‘Buck’ joined in and chopped Leacock with a cutlass on his foot.

The men escaped and public-spirited persons took Leacock to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he is in a stable condition.

The Police questioned several persons in relation to the incident and checks were made for the suspects but no one has been found. The investigation is ongoing.
