Officers of the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) on Monday found and took possession of 162 grammes of marijuana, two guns and matching ammunition during an operation Agricola, East Bank Demerara.
According to a statement from CANU, the Unit’s officers conducted the operation at a location between Third and Fourth Streets, Agricola.
The results were that they discovered a .45 ACP pistol with nine matching rounds of ammunition, a 12-gauge shotgun and a cartridge. A quantity of leaves, seeds and stems which later tested positive for marijuana and weighed approximately 162 grammes, was also found.
The guns and ammunition, along with marijuana were taken to CANU’s Headquarters and an investigation is underway.
