Driver dies after crashing into utility pole
A 38-year-old man lost his life Sunday after he crashed into a utility pole at No.36 Village, Corentyne, Berbice.
Dead is Trevor Elias of Lot 4 Cromarty Farm, Corentyne, Berbice.
He was driving motor car PGG 3721, owned by Deborah Campbell. Mark Anderson, who was seated in the front passenger seat, is nursing minor injuries.
News Room understands that the accident occurred at about 05:45 hrs on the No.36 public road.
Elias was heading south when he slammed into the utility pole.
Both Elias and Anderson were removed from the vehicle and taken to the Skeldon Public Hospital where Elias was pronounced dead.
Anderson is presently receiving medical attention for lacerations about his body. His condition is regarded as stable.
