Courts Guyana donates AKT bike for KFC Elite League MVP

Courts Guyana has presented an AKT bike to the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) to be awarded to the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the KFC Elite League Season Six. The brief ceremony took place at the retail giant’s Main Street branch in Georgetown.

In attendance was Andrea Johnson, President of the Guyana Women’s Association (WFA) and member of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Council, along with Courts representative Collis Venture, Junior Brand Manager, Lucky Dollar & AKT.

Johnson thanked Courts on behalf of GFF President Wayne Forde and the Council for supporting the KFC Elite League.

“Your sponsorship of a motorcycle for this season’s MVP is more than just an investment in the event, it’s an investment in the dreams of the players. I want to thank you for coming on board.”

The red, black and white AKT 250CC motorcycle, featuring a 4-stroke CG OHV engine with 16.3 horsepower at 7000 RPM, is valued at G$399,999.

Round Two of Season Six starts on May 25, featuring Santos FC against Fruta Conquerors FC from 18:30h and Guyana Police Force FC against Western Tigers FC from 21:00h. These matches will take place at the Federation’s National Training Centre in Providence, East Bank Demerara.

The 10 elite teams- Guyana Defence Force FC, Slingerz FC, Guyana Police Force FC, Western Tigers FC, Santos FC, Den Amstel FC, Fruta Conquerors FC, Ann’s Grove United FC, Monedderlust FC, and Buxton United FC- will compete in a total of forty-five games from May to August.

The top four clubs will vie for cash prizes of G$2,000,000, G$1,200,000, G$800,000 and G$500,000, along with trophies, medals, and other awards.

The league serves as a key pathway for senior men’s players, offering opportunities for national team selection, local and overseas scholarships, and the chance to join clubs in the Caribbean and beyond. (GFF)
