Man remanded to prison after robbing woman

Leon Alvin Junior, a 20-year-old resident of Laing Avenue, Georgetown was remanded to prison on Friday after he was charged for robbing a woman of three cellphones and other items.

Junior was arrested on May 21; he reportedly robbed Parbatie Singh on May 14 at Herstelling, East Bank Demerara (EBD).

Junior appeared at the Diamond Magistrate’s Court #2 on Friday before Magistrate Judy Latchman and the charge was read to him.

He pleaded not guilty and bail was refused. He was then remanded to prison.

This matter was adjourned to June 16, 2024.
