Alleged shooter among three arrested for murder of sex worker 

Investigators probing the murder of transgender sex worker Shawn Simon Hooper, known as “Coil Bottle,” have arrested three suspects for questioning in relation to the crime.

Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum confirmed the arrests of the suspects.

Among those in custody is the alleged shooter known as “Shaggy.”

Hooper was killed at approximately 02:00 hrs Thursday, near King Street and South Road, Georgetown. At the time, he was accompanied by another sex worker, who goes by the name Unruly Lilwattie.

The News Room was informed that one of the suspects has since provided investigators with details of how the shooting unfolded.

The suspect, who was in the car alleged that Shaggy is the shooter. The car they were in is owned and was driven by Shaggy.

He said Shaggy claimed he and one of the sex workers had a problem. Details were not immediately provided and it is unclear whether Hooper was the intended target.

Information gathered by the News Room revealed that prior to the shooting, the suspect reportedly told Police that he and Shaggy picked up two female foreign nationals.

The suspects and the women had several drinks together and sexual intercourse at a city hotel after which the women left in a taxi.

Afterwards, the News Room was told that the suspect related that he and Shaggy left in a car and went to look for food.

Subsequently, the suspect added that they drove down Croal Street, Georgetown and turned onto King Street and South Road, where the sex workers were standing. And the suspect providing the account of what transpired added that Hooper approached the car.

Soon after, the suspect further recounted, Shaggy reached for a black gun that was under the driver’s seat of the car and discharged several rounds at the sex workers.

The sex workers ran for cover but Hooper’s body was found some 100 feet away in a pool of blood.

The suspect further told investigators that after leaving the scene, he and Shaggy proceeded to a location in the city where they purchased food.

Investigators recovered nine 9mm spent shells at the scene.
