Miner remanded for brutal murder of Venezuelan
Williams Andres Ugas Amudarain, a 23-year-old miner of Quartz Stone Backdam, Cuyuni River, Region Seven, was remanded to prison on Thursday after he was charged for the brutal murder of Venezuelan, Adrian Williams.
Williams, a 21-year-old miner, was brutally chopped to death during a drinking spree at Quartz Stone Landing, Cuyuni River.
Amudarain has fled the scene of the crime but was later found by Police ranks. He was charged with murder on Thursday.
The man was not required to plead to the charge when he appeared before Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court.
He was remanded to prison and the matter was adjourned to August 9, 2024.
