In a devastating incident early Monday morning on the Kiltern Public Road in Corentyne, Berbice, an 18-year-old woman lost her life following a car crash involving her husband. Bibi Aleah Ali, identified as a medical technologist, was fatally injured when the vehicle driven by her 24-year-old husband, Niraz Sukdeo, collided with a parked crane and landed in a nearby canal.

According to initial reports from the police, Sukdeo was allegedly speeding and suspected to be intoxicated at the time of the accident. This led to him losing control of the car, which crashed into the stationary crane before veering into the canal. The impact of the collision ejected Ali from the vehicle.

Both husband and wife sustained injuries from the crash and were rushed to Anamayah Memorial Hospital before being transferred to Skeldon Public Hospital for further treatment. Unfortunately, Ali succumbed to her injuries despite medical efforts, while Niraz Sukdeo remains hospitalized with multiple injuries.

The police is investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident as loved ones mourn the untimely loss of Ali.

Thank God, it was not a GPL pole.
By the way, what is this crane parked on the road, side of the road, nearby the road ?
Was there any warning signs posted etc. etc. ?

Sorry, seeing the crashed picture, I can understand, the driver did not see the parked crane.

When would drivers learn to drive responsibly ? Based on this new medium the driver was allegedly under the influence which is associated with several accidents on the roads nationally .
This crane was seen by many other drivers and I suspect it was parked hazardously the police I am sure would have removed it.
I am so sorry and upset about these incidents on Guyana’s roads! ‘accidents don’t just happen they are caused’ (Joe Braz).
