Guyana’s Under-17 cricket team got a pep talk from GCB President Bissoondyal Singh as they gear up for the CWI Rising Stars Championships.
The young guns have been working at the GCB Indoor Facility, fine-tuning their skills before departing for Trinidad and Tobago on Sunday.
Head coach Ameer Rahaman is confident in his squad, highlighting the contributions of several U19 players who bring leadership and experience to the team.
The coaching staff strongly emphasises fitness and match simulation to prepare the players for the rigors of tournament cricket.
Singh backed the team to dominate the competition, challenging them to represent Guyana proudly.
The GCB President also showed his support by providing essential cricket gear to some squad members.
Guyana’s U17s are set to compete in both the 50-over and Two-Day formats of the tournament, with the ultimate goal of bringing home the titles for the first time.
Guyana faces Trinidad in their first Two-Day match at Inshan Ali Park from 09:30h on August 14.
