In a display of unwavering determination, Guyana clinched their fourth consecutive Caribbean Area Squash Association (CASA) Senior Championship title, solidifying their dominance in the region.
The ENet-sponsored tournament, held at the Georgetown Club and National Racquet Centre, saw Guyana amass a total of 64 points, narrowly edging out Barbados (60 points) for the top spot. The Cayman Islands finished third with 54 points.
Guyana’s women’s team started the day with a narrow loss to Barbados, but they rallied back to secure victories.
Ashley Khalil, the 2022 Caribbean Singles Champion, played a pivotal role in the team’s success, defeating her Bajan opponent in a thrilling three-set match.
The men’s team followed suit, delivering a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Trinidad and Tobago. Shomari Wilshire, Daniel Ince, Jason Ray Khalil, and Sam Ince Carvahal all contributed to Guyana’s dominant performance.
This latest triumph further cements Guyana’s position as a powerhouse in Caribbean squash, showcasing their exceptional talent and resilience.
