Guyana’s ace squash player Nicolette Fernandes created history a week ago, winning a second Masters title at the World Squash Federation Masters tournament in the Netherlands.
The legendary squash player copped the Women’s 40+ category, topping Samantha Teran in straight sets (11-6, 11-4, 12-10) in the final.
Fernandes, who previously won the Women’s 35+ title in 2022, remained undefeated throughout this year’s tournament. The former world number 19 player has now won multiple World Masters titles, showcasing her enduring talent and competitive spirit.
President of the Guyana Squash Association David Fernandes, who has seen first-hand the growth and development of Nicolette’s career, said her achievements are unbelievable.
Fernandes spoke at the conclusion of the ENet Caribbean Senior Squash Championship in Georgetown.
