Nicholas Singh, also called ‘Pookie,’ was arrested by Police on Sunday. He was wanted for the January 1, 2024 murder of Natram Persaud.
Persaud, also called Vishal, was shot after a robbery unfolded at a Canal No. 2 Polder, West Bank Demerara (WBD) wedding house on New Year’s Day.
Singh is believed to be part of a trio involved in the robbery and murder then.
Police Headquarters reported that Singh was caught during a raid exercise conducted in several areas in Regional Division 4A.
Meanwhile, Police also said other wanted persons were caught.
Rondell Vanrossum, a 45-year-old resident of Norton Street, Lodge, was also arrested with an unlicensed Glock 9MM pistol and ten rounds of 9MM ammunition.
Julian Aaron, a 51-year-old resident of East Ruimveldt, was arrested with a quantity of ammunition, while Lorenzo Heywood, a 20-year-old resident of Coldingen, ECD, who is Wanted by the Police for several armed robberies, was arrested.
