Two friends were killed after the car they were in crashed into a bridge rail at Land of Canaan, East Bank Demerara (EBD) on Sunday night.
Dead are Ronaldo Gordon, 22, and Joel Sutherland, 23, both of Timehri North, EBD
The accident occurred at about 23:00 hrs. It involved motor car PAD 7677 which was driven by Gordon. Sutherland was seated in the front passenger seat of the car.
Police Headquarters in a statement said the car was speeding north along the western land of the public road when Gordon lost control of the vehicle.
The car ended up in the eastern lane of the road and collided with the bridge rail.
As a result of the collision, the car was extensively damaged and the occupants were flung out of the vehicle.
Both men received injuries about their bodies. They were picked up by passersby and taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where they were pronounced dead.
