Guyana suffered a second round loss to Jamaica in the Cricket West Indies’ Rising Stars Under-15, 50-over Championship on Thursday at the Antigua Recreation Ground.

Sent in to the bat on grassy pitch at the historic venue in St. John’s, Guyana wasted a relatively solid platform and ended with a score barely over 100.

From 65-2 in the 13th over Guyana slipped to 104 all out from 28.1 overs with Arif Bacchus making 22 off 47 (4x4s), the only player to get past 20.

Reyaz Latif made 17 off 34 (2x4s), while openers Justin Dowlin and Lomar Seecharran made 15 off 24 (3x4s) and 12 off 18 (2x4s) respectively.

Jamaica coasted to victory at 106-3 from 29 overs with opener Jayden Shaw scoring 38 off 70 (7x4s), Tesfah Ward making 25 off 31 (5x4s) and Luwain Pryce 19 not out off 46 (1×4).

Bowling for Guyana, skipper Ramdeholl produced a top spell of 2-13 off nine overs, four of which were maidens, while Patricce Fraser took 1-30 off six.

Guyana will next face Windward Islands on Saturday (April 19) at the Antigua Recreation Ground.
