Wendy’s Guyana has announced a partnership with the Vurlon Mills Football Academy (VMFA) to support the Academy’s annual Year-End Football Festival, underscoring the company’s commitment to youth sports development.

The collaboration aims to empower young footballers through organised competition and community engagement in Georgetown.

The VMFA Year-End Football Festival, now in its third year, is scheduled for December 20, 2025 and will bring together over 100 young athletes aged 4-15, competing across multiple age categories from U6 to U14.

The event, set to be held at St. Stanislaus Ground on Carifesta Avenue,  is hailed as an inspiring platform for young players to improve skills, build confidence, and foster sportsmanship.

Iman Cummings, Director of Wendy’s Guyana, highlighted the alignment between the partnership and the company’s broader mission to enrich local communities.

“At Wendy’s Guyana, we believe in the power of sport to inspire discipline, teamwork, and ambition,” Cummings said.

“We are honoured to support the Vurlon Mills Football Academy and the incredible work they do in shaping the next generation of athletes and leaders.”

Academy founder Vurlon Mills expressed his gratitude for the corporate support, noting the positive impact the festival brings to participants of all ages.

“Private sector companies play a big role in making this programme a success and we are excited to have Wendy’s on board and grateful for the support,” Mills commented.

The festival promises to be a memorable celebration of youth football, bringing families, supporters, and young players together to mark the end of the football year.
