Brazilian woman remanded for murder of husband

A 49-year-old Brazilian woman has been remanded to prison after being charged with the murder of her husband at Rock Creek Backdam, Puruni River.
Doroteia Castilho Maia, of Manaus, Brazil, and Rock Creek Backdam, Puruni River, appeared before Magistrate Teriq Mohamed at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
The charge stems from the fatal stabbing of Antonio Pereira Figueredo, a 53-year-old Brazilian gold miner, also of Manaus, Brazil, and Rock Creek Backdam, Puruni River. The incident occurred on Saturday last.
