Ranks of ‘B’ Division equipped with skills to enhance Public Relations

 The Guyana Police Force ‘B’ Division joined with the President’s Youth Award Program to host its first training session on Wednesday (September 28, 2016) to provide ranks with the requisite skills to interact with the public.

 

Mr. Allister Collins, Executive Officer of the President’s Youth Award Program noted that he was invited by the Deputy Commander of the Division to share knowledge “on some of the skills that they would have to develop and show the public in order to forge and develop that sort of relationship.”

 

He disclosed that the session was well received by the officers, adding that he is looking forward to seeing better relationships from the police.

 

Meanwhile, ASP Mr. Keith Williams who is also the Community Relations Officer in ‘B’ Division noted that ranks were given an opportunity to interact as their approach to the citizens is pivotal to fostering a better relationship with the public.

 

Ten representatives from various police stations across Region 5 and 6 were present at Wednesday’s session. The training is expected to become a monthly feature.
