Berbice Regional Health Services receives over $18M in Medical Supplies

The Regional Health Services, Berbice on Tuesday received medical supplies from the Guyana Medical Relief Inc. and Food for the Poor Inc. valuing $18M.

 

Director of Public Health Services, Jevaughn Stephens who received the supplies on behalf of the medical fraternity in Berbice stated that it is essential to have partnerships with stakeholders in an effort to improve healthcare delivery in the Region.

 

Stephens reiterated, “In an attempt to provide quality health care the region has rolled out Health Vision 2020”. Health Vision 2020 is a plan to achieve various goals set out by the health sector in Berbice by the year 2020.

 

He also pointed out that the supplies will be distributed to all health centres and hospitals throughout the region.

Among items donated were two trucks, medications, syringes, saline, cotton buds, bandages and medical ointments among others.
