Sri Lanka A stretch lead to 286 with a day remaining
An interesting final day is anticipated in Dambulla with West Indies A and Sri Lanka A both hunting a series victory in the third and final unofficial ‘Test’.
At stumps on day three on Thursday, Sri Lanka A closed with a lead of 286 with five second innings wickets in the hand. Scores in the match so far: Sri Lanka A 318 and 211-5; West Indies A 243.
West Indies A resumed the day on 183-4, but conceded a 75-run lead as the Sri Lanka A bowlers made light work on the lower-order. Kasun Madushanka and Lakshan Sandakan claimed 3-45 and 3-54 respectively.
Skipper Shamarh Brooks made 54 and Rakheem Cornwall 25 to go with Shimron Hetmyer’s 94 the previous day.
Batting a second time, Sri Lanka A were led by Asela Gunaratne’s 69, Sandun Weerakkody’s 48 and Rosgun Silva’s 29 not out, as Cornwall picked up 4-62 to reach 100 First-Class wickets in just his 20th match.
He has so far picked up seven wickets in the match, and a total of 23 wickets in the series, which is levelled 1-1.
