Ronasha Pilgrim, 18 months old, was this morning allegedly murdered at her 98 North Sophia, Greater Georgetown home by her uncle who tried to rob her of her earrings.
According to police information, the toddler along with her brothers, ages 10 and 12 years, were left in the house by their father who went to work as a security guard.
The police stated that between 03:30 -04:00 hrs, a 20-year-old unemployed male relative of ‘A’ Field Sophia allegedly broke a northern window, entered the house and attempted to relieve the toddler of her earrings during which she began to scream. It is alleged that the suspect tossed her through a window into the swamped yard.
Before leaving, the suspect allegedly placed a pile of wood on top of his niece, who was submerged under the approximately 11/2 feet depth water and slush.
The body is presently at the Lyken’s Funeral Home awaiting a post-mortem. The suspect has been arrested and investigations are in progress.
