After months of being put on hold, Marriott Hotel Guyana is moving to complete the construction of its Casino and Entertainment Complex.
Atlantic Hotel Inc. (AHI), the special purpose company that was established to manage the hotel, is searching for organizations or individuals to complete the construction, outfitting and operation of its casino under a leasing arrangement.
The building to house the entertainment centre was completed under Phase 1 of the construction of the facility and it is located on the western portion of the hotel alongside the Atlantic Ocean and Demerara River, comprising 1,372 square meters.
AHI is advertising for expressions of interests from both regional and international markets, and will consult with Marriott Hotel International in selecting the lessee.
Bidders are expected to submit a conceptual design, including interior design, for the competition of construction, outfitting and operation of the complex as well as a five-year business plan including employment, training and financing considerations.
The 197-room Marriott hotel in Guyana was constructed at a cost of US$58 million.
