The probe into the murder of Secondary School teacher, 22-year-old Kescia Branche has widened with the arrest of the father of her child. This now brings to six the number of persons being questioned.
News Room understands that the young man was taken into custody today and according to information received when questioned about his most recent encounter with the teacher, he could not provide detectives with critical information.
News Room was also reliably informed that the young man had in his possession the teacher’s phone, which he claimed he found in her Cummings Lodge apartment after she was found unconscious on the roadway between Louisa Row and Princes Street on November 05, 2017.
However, the News Room was unable to confirm if this is the same phone which the young lady used during her Saturday night outing. This news agency understands however that upon checking the phone records, a particular telephone number showed up and is of interest to the police.
Police sources also indicated that the young man lied to detectives when he was asked where he slept on the night of the incident; he also failed to inform investigators that he sublets a property at another location in Georgetown.
Police are not convinced that the woman went home at any point before she was found lying on the roadway. They are contending that if she did, she would not have returned on the road with the same clothing that she was seen partying with, most of Saturday night into Sunday morning.
Meanwhile, the four policemen are still in the custody along with the middle-aged man who was seen touching the young teacher inappropriately in the Blue Martini nightclub.
