Police shot at, more Brazilians arrested in Lethem robbery

As the police continue their investigation into the brazen armed robbery which occurred in the commercial zone of Lethem, Region 9 on Tuesday, January 23, four more Brazilian nationals, including two women, have been arrested.

A police report noted that police ranks went to a house at Tabatinga, Lethem at about 10:30 pm Tuesday and were forced to take cover as several rounds were fired at them from inside the building.

Police said that the area was cordoned and the lawmen, using their tactical training, subsequently gained entry into the building and arrested four persons.  A .38 revolver, a 9mm magazine and forty-two live rounds of ammunition were found in the house.

News Room had reported on Tuesday, that three bandits, who were identified as nationals of Brazil, were caught after robbing a store in the commercial zone.
