Wales man suspected of killing wife dies

Forty-year-old Nigel Glasgow, who allegedly murdered his reputed wife on Wednesday, died at around midnight at the West Demerara Regional Hospital, hours after he was discharged.

News Room understands that Glasgow, who had slit his throat in an attempt to take his life, was released from the West Demerara Regional Hospital where he was treated for the wound to his neck.

He was taken to the Wales Police Station, West Bank Demerara but was not placed in the lockups; instead, he was being held on the bench in the station.

News Room understands that last evening, he complained of feeling unwell and was taken back to the hospital where he died around midnight.

The cause of death will be determined when a Post Mortem is conducted.

News Room had reported that Glasgow’s stepson and other residents found him lying on the bed in a pool of blood at his Wales, Murphy Street home, hugging the body of 42-year-old Diane Hernandez, who lived at Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara.

The woman was found with a rope tied tightly around her neck and both hands bound.
