‘Otiesha’ to face Judge and Jury for rape of child

Otis Pearson known as “Otiesha” was today committed to stand trial at the High Court for engaging in sexual activity with a 14-year-old boy.

The decision was made by Magistrate Fabayo Azore following a paper committal. He will remain on $300,000 bail.

The charge read that on December 24, 2017, at Station Street, Kitty he caused the 14-year-old boy to perform a sexual act; that is to say, penetrate his anus. The charge amounts to statutory rape since the boy is below the age of consent.

Pearson is represented by Attorney-at-law Ronald Burch-Smith.

The Child Care and Protection Agency (CC&PA) in February concluded its investigation into the alleged incident by Pearson, who was very vocal on social media that he “has a young boy for every day of the week”.

Pearson had said that his statement was misinterpreted and he denied having sexual relations with “little boys”.

However, a photograph later appeared with Pearson in the company of a young boy.
