Family arrested for bribing police to release men found with illegal gun

Three persons were on Monday (October 1, 2018) arrested at the Brickdam Police Station after they collectively tried to bribe an investigator into releasing three men who were detained for the possession of an unlicensed gun.

The men were arrested on September 26 at Kuru Kururu Village after they were found with the illegal firearm.

Police Headquarters said “a mother, a sister and a female partner of the suspects” offered an investigator a sum of money for the men’s release.

The men are Kirk Maddison, 32, and Kevin Dickie, 28, of Lodge Housing Scheme; and Mario Persaud, 21, of Soesdyke/Linden Highway.
