Over 47lbs of marijuana was discovered after a driver fled an accident scene at the Number Six Public Road, West Coast Berbice on Saturday night.
Police Headquarters said they are searching for the driver of a 212 motorcar who abandoned his vehicle shortly after he crashed into the rear of another vehicle, which resulted in extensive damage to both.
A search of the car revealed several parcels of compressed cannabis which weighed in excess of 21,770 grammes, police said.
Both vehicles and the illegal drugs have been lodged as the investigation continues.
