A 19-year-old male sex worker on Thursday appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court, accused of snatching a man’s chain.

Godfrey Cox of Charlestown, Georgetown, denied that on December 29, 2018, at High Street, he stole from Melram Parsram a gold gain valued $80,000.

Police Prosecutor, Gordon Mansfield told the court that the stolen chain was recovered on Cox when he was arrested by the police.

According to reports, on the day in question, the victim was walking along High Street when he was confronted by Cox, who snatched his chain and escaped.

The matter was reported to the police and Cox was arrested with the chain around his neck.

The Chief Magistrate released Cox on $10,000 bail and adjourned the matter to January 11, 2019.

Cox is no stranger to the court; in June 2018, he was charged with armed robbery and in October 2017, he was among two persons charged with the robbery of an elderly man.
