A 26-year-old construction worker appeared before Chief Magistrate, Ann McLennan Friday, accused of circulating a sex video of his reputed wife on WhatsApp, assaulting her and stealing her gold chain.
Hadar London of Christiansburg, Linden, denied that on November 18, 2018, at Queenstown, Georgetown, he circulated obscene cinematography video of his reputed wife, by way of WhatsApp messenger.
He was further charged for stealing the woman’s $180,000 gold chain and also unlawfully assaulting her on the day in question. He pleaded not guilty to the two additional charges.
Prosecutor Gordon Mansfield told the court that there was a fight between the couple when the accused took the woman’s phone and sent the video to the father of her child.
The court heard that London also choked the victim, snatched her gold chain and escaped.
Meanwhile, the victim told the Chief Magistrate today that she no longer wants to pursue the case and wants the charges dropped.
As such, the Chief Magistrate warned London about distributing sex videos on the internet since it is considered cybercrime and is a criminal offence.
London was placed on a 12-month bond to keep the peace or default of one-month imprisonment.
