Hand-in-Hand Mutual Fire Insurance Company Limited is proud to once again provide sponsorship towards the Guyana Boxing Association (GBA) for the Caribbean Schoolboys and Junior tournament, scheduled for August 16-18, 2019.

The tournament was created in 2016 when the GBA was voted the Most Improved Association of 2016 at the National Sports Awards Ceremony. It is the first of its kind in Latin America and has provided a forum for the region’s best Under-16 and juniors to test themselves against each other.

Guyana has proudly hosted and has graciously been crowned champion of the three tournaments held so far.

For the first time, teams from the USA, Panama, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic have been invited as the GBA envisage that the higher level of competition would be a stern test for the region’s nursery.

In addition, Anguilla, Antigua, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Cayman Island, Curacao, Dominica, Grenada, Haiti, Jamaica, St. Maarten, St. Lucia, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago and the US Virgin Islands have signalled their intention of participating.

“The Hand-in-Hand Mutual Fire Insurance Company Limited has always been an unwavering supporter of boxing in Guyana and continues to contribute towards the sports industry to enhance the development of youths in our communities and fulfil their corporate responsibility,” the company said in a statement.

E-Networks, Hand-in-Hand, Massy Distribution and Courts Guyana, Associated Packers Industry of Sheriff Street, Power Producers and Distributors Inc., Secure Innovations and Concepts, Bounty Farms Limited, Maggie’s Snackette, National Sports Commission, Ministry of Social Cohesion, Department of Culture, Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Indigenous People’s Affairs are the other sponsors thus far.

The Championship is scheduled to commence at 18:00h daily and Ringside tickets cost $1,500 each, Stands $500 and season tickets $4,000.
