Police are investigating the armed robbery of a Zorg-en-Hoop, Blairmont, West Coast Berbice family by three men who were armed with a gun and cutlasses Sunday night.
Twenty-five-year old Sohanram Ramotar, a foreman of the Blairmont Estate, said he was inside the house when the three bandits entered via the back door that was semi opened at around 19:45hrs.
His parents, who were sitting under the house, were ordered to go inside.
Ramotar said he was held at gunpoint as the bandits demanded money and jewellery.
The bandits ransacked the lower and upper flats of the house; they took Ramotar’s wallet which contained some $25,000 in cash along with jewellery that was in the bedroom.
The men escaped and the Police arrived some 20 minutes later.
No one has been arrested as the investigation continues.
