PPP rising star Susan Rodrigues to become Minister
Susan Rodrigues, 33, a rising star within the ruling Peoples Progressive Party (PPP), is expected to be sworn in on Wednesday afternoon to serve as Minister within the Ministry of Housing and Water just four years after she went out on a limb and decided to enter politics and join the party.
She joined the party four years go after becoming fed up with the Coalition.
When she noticed the Coalition was not fulfilling its promises, she took the nudge of one of her school friends and signed up an application to join the PPP in 2016.
From there, she rose to become the secretary of one of the PPP’s Georgetown groups and then she became the Group’s chairperson.
Rodrigues is originally from Middle Road, La Penitence in Georgetown. She has two children, ages 6 and 9.
She comes from a family of entrepreneurs and has been in construction and real estate.
She also has a law degree from the University of Guyana and has a Masters in Business Administration.
