56 of 76 new COVID-19 cases recorded in Region 4

Region Four has recorded 56 of the 76 new COVID-19 cases reported by the Ministry of Health on Friday.
The new cases were recorded from 438 new tests conducted over the last 24 hours, taking Guyana’s overall number of confirmed cases to 7, 143.

The other cases were recorded in Region One with four new cases, Region Three recorded five new cases, Regions Five, Eight and Nine each recorded one new case while Region Six recorded six new cases and Region Ten recorded two new cases.

There are now 604 patients in home isolation, 34 patients are in institutional isolation and seven patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Disease Hospital. Fifty-one new recoveries were also recorded, pushing the overall to 6, 328 while to date, 170 persons have died.
