Shoppers in Vreed-en-Hoop, West Coast Demerara will now have the Massy Stores experience with the opening of the second Massy Mini location, the fourth retail outlet in the Massy chain in Guyana.
With an investment of $138 million, the 4,700 square feet of retail space will provide direct employment for a dozen Guyanese, with the possibility of expanding as the business grows; it is located at Lot 133 South, New Road.
The Massy Mini format is touted as convenient; it is designed to cater to the hectic and fast-paced lifestyles of customers who want convenient options.
“Massy with its concept of enhanced ambiance, exceptional customer care, and product assortments will deliver a superior shopping experience to our West Side fans,” Massy’s Country Manager Robert Singh said during the opening ceremony on Tuesday.
Back in May, Massy Guyana launched its first mini format with an outlet at Montrose, East Coast Demerara. Singh believes that with the success of the Massy Mini at Montrose and the many requests from customers on the West Coast of Demerara that success will be duplicated.
“We have always been customer-focused and we are always trying to learn and adjust to their needs…so the thought was – why not Massy Mini in Vreed En Hoop? That thought is now a fact today,” Singh added.
A big part of the choice of location, he explained, was the vigorous commercial growth in the area. Additionally, Store Manager Shivdatt Tiwari remarked that the main aim is to extend the Massy brand’s reach.
“We are truly excited about opening our doors in the Vreed-En-Hoop, where customers can experience the feelings as the other Massy Stores, and I can assure you that the values which we uphold will not change.
“We will continue to maintain our standards of quality, delivery of exceptional service and an assortment which can only be found at Massy stores,” Tiwari highlighted.
Cognisant of the restrictions presented by the COVID-19 pandemic and in a bid to keep customers safe, Tiwari added that Massy is exploring the creation of a shopping website.
