A 25-year-old hire car driver of Scottsburg, Corriverton, Berbice is in serious condition after he was stabbed during a fight with his sister and another man on Sunday night.
Police Headquarters reported that Veeraj Singh and his sister, Jashoda called “Devya” got into a fight after the sister threatened their mother earlier on Sunday.
Singh told Police that when he tried to scold his sister, she pelted him with bottles and so, he picked up a mop stick and a fight ensued. The incident occurred at about 19:45hrs at sibling’s Scottsburg house.
During the fight, police said another man identified as Rajendra Bhagratti of No. 58 Village stabbed Singh.
He was subsequently rushed to Skeldon Public Hospital and later transferred to New Amsterdam Public Hospital.
Bhagratti and the sister were both arrested and are assisting with the investigation.
