A new $2000 bill will soon be in circulation in Guyana. The bill depicts President Irfaan Ali’s ‘One Guyana’ agenda, which seeks to foster one nationality and a common love for country.

“It is supposed to come I would say around the 14th or so of February; it could come before, but not later than the 14th,” Governor of the Bank of Guyana, Dr. Gobind Ganga, told the News Room on Friday.

The new bill also commemorates Guyana’s 55th Independence Anniversary.

Along with the national flower and national flag, the new $2000 bill also portrays Guyana’s rich and diverse heritage.

The faces of children from Guyana’s six ethnic groups are also portrayed.

This would be the seventh currency note for the country.
