The partially decomposed body of 60-year-old Roystan Lam was found in his Bachelor’s Adventure, East Coast Demerara (ECD) home around 17:45 hrs on Friday.
Police Headquarters reported that Lam resided alone in a one-storey wooden structure. Based on enquiries, he was last seen alive on April 29, 2022, by his neighbours.
On Friday evening, however, his cousin visited his residence and reportedly called out to him several times. There was no response but a foul smell was emanating from the house. As such, the police were summoned.
According to the police report, when ranks arrived at around 18:10hrs, they found Lam’s body lying face up.
The man was pronounced dead by a doctor and the body taken to the Merriman Funeral Parlour for storage.The scene was processed and photographed by the police.
Additionally, police reported that the home was not ransacked, and no foul play is suspected. Several persons were, however, questioned. Based on information received, Lam suffered from hypertension.
