57 new COVID cases from 1,483 tests

Another 57 people have been infected with the disease COVID-19 over a 24-hour period, based on information provided by the Ministry of Health’s daily COVID-19 dashboard. 

These new cases were recorded after a total of 1,483 tests were done. With these new cases, the total number of confirmed infections recorded in Guyana since March 2020 has increased to 64,492. 

The new cases were recorded in the following regions: Region Two (four cases); Region Three (three cases); Region Four (39 cases); Region Five (one case); Region Six (seven cases); Region Nine (one case) and Region Ten (two cases).

Meanwhile, there are now three patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 18 patients are in institutional isolation and 587 patients are in home isolation.

To date, 62, 652 people have recovered and 1, 232 people have died from the virus.
