Almost one week after she was discovered brutally murdered, the husband of 41-year-old high school teacher, Omega Ault was arrested on Thursday evening at the Malinmar Hotel at No. 78 Village, Corriverton, Berbice.

Clarence Farley, 40, has been on the run for days. Police Headquarters reported that ranks acted on information received and went to the hotel at about 19:50hrs and discovered Farley in a room.

A wanted bulletin was issued for him after his wife was discovered in a decomposed state at their Crane, West Bank Demerara home.

An autopsy revealed that she died as a result of multiple traumas to the head and brain haemorrhage.

It is suspected that the teacher may have died between May 14 and 27.

The woman’s brother, Kevin Ault, visited her home on Friday last after he could not reach her for days.

There, he made the gruesome discovery. Ault was found lying face down inside of her house at around 17:00hrs.

According to the police, the couple was reportedly encountering marital problems.

Four days before she was found dead, Farley left their three-year-old son at the Diamond, East Bank Demerara house of his sister-in-law, Tracy Ault.

Meanwhile, the day after she was found dead, Farley’s car was discovered at a lumber yard at Coverden on the East Bank of Demerara.

Even though they’ve been together for years, the News Room understands that the couple only got married in December 2021.
