The Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday said the Guyana Police Force removed fifteen female Venezuelan nationals from a nightspot on Saturday last and has since launched an investigation on the suspicion that the women were trafficked.
A statement posted on the Ministry’s Facebook page noted that between 01:00hrs and 03:00 hrs police ranks conducted a cordon and search exercise at Club Plan B located at Public Road, Stewartville, West Coast Demerara.
During this operation, the women were found and three suspects were detained by the police for questioning.
The Ministry said it will provide further updates as they become available and wish to further notify the public that the Guyana Police Force will continue to monitor these establishments.
