Moths pester Evergreen/Paradise residents

In recent weeks, residents of Evergreen and Paradise in Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) have been affected by the invasion of moths on their premises. the situation has since caused a series of allergic reactions among residents.

While moths aren’t the most harmful pest you can find in your household, they can cause plenty of damage to clothes, food, and other belongings.

The residents related that the moths (white butterflies) would usually fly around in large groups mostly in the evenings. During the day they cling to trees and property.

One resident, Nigel De Augair, said his skin would become bumpy and itch whenever he comes into contact with the moths.

Other residents related that her children also suffered allergic reactions and had to seek treatment at a pharmacy.

Residents are calling on the Ministry of Health and Agriculture to intervene soonest.
