A building belonging to the State which housed the Regional Executive Officer of Region 6, Narindra Persaud, was ravaged by fire early on Sunday morning.
The REO confirmed with the News Room that he was informed about the blaze while he was out of the region.
He said no-one was at the house except a security guard.
The building was assigned to Persaud when he was appointed REO of Region 6 after the 2020 elections.
An investigation is underway.

I feel good that no lives were lost in the blaze. However, the material things money, clothes, perhaps jewelry are not easy to be replaced. Ny sympathy goes out to the REO of Region 6 and I am hoping that suitable accommodation would be forthcoming to him soon.
