Infrastructure development works to be executed all across Region Four (Demerara- Mahaica) are part of the 126 contracts inked by the Ministry of Housing and Water on Friday to the tune of $56.8 billion.
There were 45 contracts, totalling $21.78 billion, for infrastructure development works in Region Four.
This caters for work at De-Engrat, Block Six Hope, Hope Blocks A to D, Le Ressouvenir and Success Lots One to Eight, Good Hope PHase IV, Great Diamond, Golden Grove Block II and Block 13.
Based on information provided by the Ministry of Housing and Water, several companies inked large contracts.
The largest contract for works in Region Four went to Guyamerica. For $865.8 million, the company is expected to execute works at Golden Grove Block II.
Meanwhile, Ivor Allen inked a $799.9 million contract for works at Le Ressouvenir and Success. Build Smart Construction and Supplies Inc. inked a $768.9 million contract for works at De-Engrat; Aronco Services Inc. secured a $754.2 contract for works at Le Ressouvenir and Success.
Additionally, Samaroo Investment secured a contract for $759.4 million for works at Block Three Great Diamond. Both Aztec Pavers Inc. and Vals Construction inked two contracts, valued at $781.2 million and $793.1 million, for works at Golden Grove Block II.
A separate set of contracts, worth $3.4 billion, were inked for the construction of a four-lane road extension at Great Diamond.
Meanwhile, contracts were also inked for works in Regions Three, Five, Six, Seven and 10. Of the total 126 contracts, three contracts are slated for retendering.
