Kaieteur Attack record credible performances at National Cycling Championships

Kaieteur Attack was among the top teams at the National Cycling Championships, organised by the Guyana Cycling Federation.

The club follows, We Stand United Cycling Club, which clinched five of the ten categories in the Guyana National Cycling Championship held on June 17 -18 and 24-25, 2023.

Evolution Cycling Club captured three categories, with Team Coco and Kaieteur Attack Racing capturing one category each.

United’s Briton John, Aaron Newton and Alexander Leung all performed great to be crowned National Champions, with newcomer Alex Newton placing third twice in the juvenile categories.

Outstanding work from Evolution’s Curtis Dey, Denise Jeffrey and Robin Persaud sealed the three national wins for the team with top-five placements from Christopher Griffith, Seagun Hubbard and Paul de Nobrega.

The small but consistent Team Coco recorded one National Championship win with Clivecia Spencer, reigning Champion Girl from last year’s 60^th School Nationals.

Kaieteur Attack Racing rounded out the 2023 Champions with a Master’s Time Trial Win from Quincy ‘Kwame’ Ridley.

In a release to the media, Ridely, credited hard work and determination as the key to success as the large club recorded top-five placements in almost all categories with cyclists Abigail Jeffrey, Tandecia Noel, Ajani Cutting, Sebastian Nathan, Alexis Mendes, Arjune Sookai and new member, Romello Crawford, 2021 Men’s Elite Road Race Champion.

The Guyana National Cycling Championship was not held in 2022.

2023 promises to be the year of ‘returns’ with Director of Sport, Steve Ninvalle signalling his intention earlier this year, to bring back the Five-Stage Cycling event that previously attracted cycling teams from the Caribbean.
