The Guyana Tennis Association (GTA) will serve off its inaugural One Guyana Open Tournament on June 30 at the National Racquet from June 30.
According to the GTA, the country’s best players and a few former champions making a comeback will battle for $2 million in cash and prizes.
The two-week-long competition is sponsored by the National Sports Commission (NSC) and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport in collaboration with the GTA.
This tournament will feature four categories: Men’s Open Singles, Ladies’ Open Singles, Men’s 35 Singles, and Men’s 45 Singles.
Main-draw play begins on Friday, June 30, following the opening ceremony at 15:00h.
Matches will be played Monday through Friday from 15:30h to 18:30h and on weekends from 14:00 hrs to 18:30 hrs.
The best-of-three sets is the format for all categories.
The GTA expressed that they continue to appreciate the Government’s support, as it shows a steadfast dedication to the continued development of tennis in Guyana.
