‘Guyana lost an amazing human being’ – Jagdeo on death of PPP/C founder member

See below full statement issued by General Secretary of the People’s Progressive Party Civic, Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo:

General Secretary Bharrat Jagdeo expresses sincere condolences on behalf of himself and the party, to the family and friends of Ashton Chase O.E. SC, the last of the party’s founder members, who passed away today.
Our country owes an eternal debt of gratitude to this outstanding son of the soil. Guyana has lost an amazing human being.

Note: Mr. Ashton Chase was one of the four founder members of the Political Affairs Committee (PAC), which was formed in 1946 in British Guiana. The People’s Progressive Party was eventually formed out of the PAC. Chase was the last surviving founder member of the PAC; the other members were: Cheddi Jagan, Janet Jagan and Jocelyn Hubbard.
