The partly decomposed body of a man identified as 39-year-old Ameer Ally Hoosein called ‘Mudda’, a labourer of Lot 80 Johns, Port Mourant, Corentyne, Berbice was found in his home in a pool of blood on Wednesday.

Reports are that his aunt made the grisly discovery after not seeing Hoosein since Sunday.

According to the police, his body was found at about 16:00 hrs in the lower flat of his two-storey wooden home. A neighbour disclosed that the deceased is usually seen on a daily basis and she would provide him with food to eat.

On Sunday, at approximately 18:00 hrs, Hoosein was seen under the influence of alcohol; he collected some food and he was not seen or heard from since.

The aunt of the deceased, Monica Mohan, said she left her home after being informed that Hoosein was missing and ventured to his house. There she saw him lying motionless in a decomposing state.

Police said the body was examined for marks of violence but because of the state of decomposition, none were visible. The body was then taken to Ramoo Funeral Parlor where it is awaiting a post morten examination. Investigations are ongoing.
