Majesty Anthony Fernandes, the suspect, who is wanted by the Police in relation to the shooting in West Ruimvedlt, Georgetown which has left one man dead and another injured, is the owner of the vehicle that was allegedly used in the crime.

Police Headquarters on Friday issued a wanted bulletin for Majesty Anthony Fernandes, 33, whose last known address is Lot 1690 National Avenue South Ruimveldt, Georgetown.

    Dead: Dexter Horsham

Police said he was wanted for questioning in relation to the murder of Dexter Horsham.

However, shortly after the bulletin was issued, the Police were faced with questions after information surfaced that Fernandes has been in the United States (US) since June.

And in providing clarification, Police Headquarters in a subsequent statement said the investigators are seeking to locate Fernandes as he is the owner of the silver Chevy Silverado Pickup, GLL 7950, which was used by the suspects.

The vehicle, which was previously owned by Mark Benschop, was sold to Fernandes about 10 years ago.

“As such, the Guyana Police Force has issued a Wanted Bulletin for Majesty Fernandes…for questioning with respect to the suspects that used the said vehicle on the day of the alleged murder,” Police Headquarters later clarified.

The shooting occurred at around 16:50 hrs on Thursday at Lot 430 West Ruimveldt, Georgetown.

    Injured: Corwyne Abraham

In a statement, Police Headquarters previously revealed that Ezekiel Subhan, a 25-year-old Private of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF), was at home with his 23-year-old reputed wife when he heard someone knocking on the door.

As a result, Subhan went out to the front door and spoke to a man who told him that he needs to leave the house. The GDF Private refused to leave when six men confronted him.

An argument ensued and a large crowd gathered, which included Horsham, during which one of the six men fired shots into the crowd, killing Horsham and injuring another man, identified as Corwyne Abraham, a 38-year-old taxi driver from Charlestown.

The gunman and other suspects fled the scene.
